Planning Your Appointment

Prior to the Central Auditory Processing (CAP) Evaluation

Able Kids Foundation encourages questions even if you are not a scheduled or existing client. Our goal is to provide you with the information you need to make the best decision for you and/or your family.

Scheduling an Evaluation

Appointments are available at 9 a.m. and 1 p.m., Monday through Thursday at our office. Remote testing is not available. The Foundation does not work with insurance companies but provides an itemized invoice with insurance codes as a courtesy after services are rendered. Clients are responsible for all communication with their insurance provider. Financial assistance is available for families who qualify.

The Day of the Appointment

Please expect to be at the Foundation for approximately two hours. The CAP evaluation is completed first, followed by a review of case history information and summary of findings and recommendations. Our client-centered approach includes the individual being assessed during the discussion, regardless of age. A written report will be emailed to you within three weeks of your appointment. Once received, a one-hour post-test discussion is completed by phone with your audiologist.

Client Testimonial

Our children have had their filters for a week and I’ve noticed a high improvement. Our son hasn’t had any meltdowns and he is much more calm, especially in stores. On Sunday, he was able to sit the entire time our family ate at a fast-food restaurant. That has never happened before! Usually, he is loud and running around, rarely finishing his meal. But this time, he sat still, ate all of his meal, then engaged in a conversation. WOW! Both of our children are significantly more focused on their schoolwork. I haven’t had to redirect them back to their tasks once! Thank you for bringing some calm into our lives!
