Currently, the world population is over 7 billion people and some of these individuals have a difference called a disability. People with disabilities have to deal with a variety of barriers. They often lack access to essential services for a number of reasons such as a lack of awareness or the availability/innovation of technology. This  “silent crisis” affects not only individuals with challenges and their families, but also economic and social development, where a significant reservoir of human potential goes untapped.

The Able Kids Foundation’s I AM ABLE™ Public Service Initiative was established to showcase the abilities of children and adults with disabilities. This Initiative creates and promotes life-changing programs for individuals with challenges and focuses on the positive impact of showcasing abilities, rather than focusing on disabilities.

The Able Kids Foundation has been host to the I AM ABLE Art Extravaganza!, showcasing the abilities of local, young artists with disabilities. The Foundation is also proud of our community representation on the Inspiration Playground Executive Committee, which created the first accessible playground for children with disabilities in Colorado.
